Hello everyone!

A while has passed since our last devlog, so I thought I’d give you some updates on our progress since then! But first, we have some amazing Promo Art by Zhafran Hafizh! Doesn’t Poseidon just look EPIC?!

Updates

Firstly, the team and I have been working on the updated demo! The new UI has been finished and implemented, Poseidon’s sprite is now in the game, and the highly-anticipated fight scene is almost ready to go! This scene took quite a bit more work than expected, due to the amount of animations and paths it requires. I’ve been showing a few sneak peeks of it, so some keen folks may have spotted it already! The characters in that CG actually have different animations and expressions according to what options were chosen in the story, so a lot of work into this segment alone!

We also added an additional scene that wasn’t originally planned - It'll provide some nice context for Demeter and Persephone’s relationship!

However, I sadly have to announce that we’ll be delaying the release of the updated demo a bit. We originally planned to release it by early May, but if we want to have a fully polished build, I decided it would be better for us to take our time with it. This way, we’ll have more time for playtesting and making sure we’re delivering something with minimal bugs as possible, as well as improving the art quality overall. We hope you understand! Not to worry, we don’t plan to take too long with this. Keep an eye out for future updates!

In the meantime, while most of us have been focusing on finishing the demo, we’ve been also making progress on the rest of the game. As you may have seen, we’ve been working on Zeus’ design. He recently got a little update, which I think made him look more regal! See for yourself!

With this, we’ve also commenced work on his sprite art. Our character designer, Pen, has also been hard at work designing Helios, who’s already looking gorgeous, if I may say so!

Sadly, our background artist has to step down due to personal matters. We of course wish her the best in her endeavors and thank her for all the help she’s given us thus far!

With this said, this does mean our team is currently on the lookout for a new background artist. Maybe it could even be you!

That concludes our major updates for the month. We’re super eager to show you all what we’ve been making and I have to hold myself from spilling all the beans! I just hope that you will play and enjoy the demo once we finally release it!
