This was honestly such a lovely and poignant read - moving to like an entirely new place for the sake of an increase in your quality of life but at the cost of leaving everything you've known and loved behind... While I haven't experienced anything close, I sympathize with Agustin here - it's not always an easy decision and it's not going to get easier, but the story ends on a note that leads me to believe things will get better for him.

The panning camera and the few animations breath life to Agustin and the setting as well, and the colours really help tie it all together. Agustin's VA is also soothing, and they also really sell the conflict brewing in his heart.

Very well written, illustrated, and directed! Congrats on the release!! <33

Thank you so much for playing our game, it makes me glad to see what you took from it- personally, I also want to believe things will get better, for him and for people in the same situations!

Thanks for taking the time to comment!

Oh this game made me tear up 😢

Of course I'm not familiar with the South American experience, but I do recognize a lot of the emotions present here in friends and acquaintances... people who are forced to leave the only place that they've ever known to go to someplace strange and unfamiliar because it's literally impossible to survive on the local salaries. I'm glad that Agustin doesn't seem to feel guilt, but at the same time it's still heartbreaking, having no choice but to leave his home and his parents and watching his life gradually fall apart as all his friends leave to seek better opportunities elsewhere. And even if the pay is better, you know that his hardships are only just beginning.

The art is really beautiful, I actually had to take a moment to admire the title screen. I especially love the dreamy, nostalgic colors of the background, and I appreciate how Agustin's colors are darker and more pronounced - somehow it gives him this feeling of otherness and sadness as he's contemplating leaving his home. One thing that I love is how the title screen took on a different meaning once the player reaches the end of the game, and you realize that Agustin isn't there anymore. The music is beautiful and wistful, and the VA did a fantastic job conveying Agustin's melancholy. The ATLs were also lovely and added a lot of liveliness to the game.

This was beautiful, fantastic work!

Aw Chat!!! (I do like making people feel things- I mean sorry for the tears!!)

Especially through talking to other people in my team, I realized that this experience is shared all through the world, even if in different ways. It's heartbreaking, though also a bit reassuring to know I'm not alone in the sentiments. It's a very difficult situation to be in, and I'm sorry to hear that you've seen people facing this too.

I have to agree, the artists honestly did such a beautiful job- they really helped inspire the whole aesthetic of the game and I think it's so much more beautiful for it! I'm really happy that you liked it, and I appreciate so much that you took the time to share everything you liked! Thank you so much!

Love the story. The art style and colors are really pretty too!

As someone who is studying in another country, the game hits close to home. I can relate because I had those worries and thought too when I left the country. Leaving my family and my favorite foods behind was especially rough.

Thank you so much for playing our game! I'm glad it resonated with you, and I hope you're able to reunite with everyone and everything you love!

Ooooh, it was so well-done!!! Congrats on the release!!

The game was very polished: I loved the implementation, the GUI, and the art!! Agustin's design is PEAK, the sprite is GORGEOUS and so full of personality, and the background looks amazing!! Also, the VA has a really nice voice!

For the story, it was interesting! I have never lived in South America, but I've heard it was indeed a rather pressing matter. I don't know if I'm an appropriate judge, but I thought it was handled with care, and the writing felt very authentic to me.

I also could connect it to my personal history. For context, I was born, raised and still live in France; however, from two Algerian parents, who came to this country at 3 years old for my mother, 7 for my father, with my grandparents being in Agustin's shoes. And I think that, in the recent years, a lot of stories have portrayed stories from my perspective: realising the sacrifices that have been made for you, dealing with the expectations your parents/grandparents have due to their sacrifices, while still living a life authentic to yours. However, this initial perspective, the perspective of my grandparents', who had to leave their country to another, in the hopes of giving their descendants a better life; and yet, how difficult it must have been to leave everything you've ever known, to go to a country the language of which you don't even speak or read, in their case, is more rarely tackled. And this game connected me to that, so thank you.

Aw, thank you so much Chim!!!

It was honestly really intriguing to me to hear of your perspective! It's true that to many people this kind of thing is probably more something that their parents or grandparents did, and perhaps they're not faced directly with the thoughts of having to go through the same. I think it's still super important to see stories from a perspective like yours, though, as I find it really interesting too and I'm sure it connects to the experiences of many!

In my case, it's like I know both sides, in some way. While I don't know in depth the sacrifices of my grandparents and great grandparents who had to move here, dealing with these sorts of feelings myself due the constant conversations of leaving the country does give me an idea. I imagine it must have been much different, given the contexts they lived in in comparison to mine, and yet there's something there, I feel. Just like Agustín said, it feels a bit ironic to me how I may have to leave the place my ancestors came to seeking a better life.

Either way, your comment was super insightful and it made me happy to read about your experience, so thank you for taking the time to write!!!

Such a beautiful story about leaving the past, your family behind — starting a new chapter in your life by going to another country! And the fear of the unknown, having to leave to find something better... An airport lounge truly makes you reflect on your life.

(The empty airport lounge makes me feel really sad now :( )

The art is absolutely stunning and the writing is so introspective. I love the little camera and sprite animations, they give so much more depth to the scene too!

Thank you so much for playing!! It makes me happy that you liked it and that it made you reflect on these topics, hehe!
