Progress Devlog 04 - After the demo


Hello everyone!

I hope you’re having a wonderful day! This devlog comes a bit late in the month as I’ve been a bit occupied, but I still wanted to write something to keep you all updated on the game! But before that, take a look at this gorgeous art piece from Kaytee!


First of all, thanks to everyone who played the demo, and an extra thanks to those who left comments and/or ratings and shared it around! You have no idea how happy your support makes the team and me, and it’s a big part of what keeps us going!

There’s been less downloads than we anticipated, but that doesn’t deter us. We’re still going to continue working on the game, and improving our marketing!

Now, onto proper updates. We released the updated demo on June 21st, and since then we’ve been working on the rest of the first half of the game, as well as some character designs for the second half. Here’s what we did so far:

  • Most scenes of it have been implemented, but still need polish and testing.
  • Older CGs have been polished and modified slightly to fit our current art style direction.
  • 4 new mini CGs have been made.
  • Persephone’s Queen of the Underworld outfit has been designed.
  • Hades is in the process of being designed.
  • A new background is in the process of being made.


We are also considering if we should add partial voice acting to the game. Ideally, this would be great. However, this is not a decision to be made lightly, as we still have a limited budget, so it’s not a priority at this time.

In other news, by the end of July we experienced the end of the She Got Game program’s 2025 edition! We presented Demeter: The Harvest Dies With You to a lot of cheer from my fellow game devs! It was a beautiful experience to be part of the program, learn from other devs and be able to improve our game with their mentorship.

Since the program had us with a bit of a stricter deadline, now that it’s over we’re taking it a bit slower for this next month, as I want to pick back up an old project and finish it at last. This doesn’t mean Demeter will be on pause, though. The team will keep working on assets and programming the first half of the game, it’s just that my focus will be split between these two projects a bit!
