Progress Devlog 05 - Updates and EVA 2025


Hello everyone!

I hope you’re having a wonderful day! I apologize for going so long without updates, but there’s been a lot happening behind the scenes, and I’m excited to tell you about it!

Now, where did we leave off last time? We had released the demo and got people playing! Since then, we also had some people stream the game, like Hikiyami MorikoTetsuya KawaguchiTyesteban and Nova SWARM! They’ve been all a delight to see, and it makes me happy when people enjoy Demeter's journey!

Updates

I’ve started writing for the second half of the game, with a whole new scene that will show more of Persephone’s side—but that’s as much as I’ll say about that for now~

Some other updates we’ve been working on include:

  • Continuing to implement the first half of the game, including a new point & click segment.
  • Making a formerly non-pettable dog, pettable.
  • Hades’ design is finalized.
  • An alternate outfit for Demeter has been designed, with another in progress.
  • More CGs have been polished.
  • Silhouettes have a new updated look.


Those are the main things I can share at the moment, but keep your eyes peeled for what's to come!

EVA 2025

Thanks to the program of She Got Game that I was a part of, this year’s EVA was much more eventful for me than it would have otherwise been!

Not only did I meet a bunch of lovely developers from different parts of the world, but I had some opportunities  to show Demeter off to even more people! I talked about the project in the podcasts Todo es Fake and Press Over, which was a super fun experience (even if a little anxiety-inducing)! We also did some flash talks during an Indie Meetup organized by Women in Games Argentina, where I basically pitched the game to a small but lovely audience. Last, but not least, thanks to Pro Helvetia I was able to take part in the networking rounds going on at the event, met some really cool people and hopefully opened some doors for the future of Demeter.

(Oh yeah, did I mention I got sick during all this?)

Now, with this event over, I will continue working on the development of Demeter, as well as Our Dollhouse on the side! There’s a lot to do, but I’m feeling excited about it all!

My next step, besides continuing work on the script, will be figuring out voice acting for the game. Nothing is guaranteed yet as I’m trying to keep a realistic budget, but it is something I really want!
